Next time you’re in the Marion town square area, stop by City Hall and visit longtime Mayor Bob Butler. For 45 years he has focused on making Marion the best place it can be, overseeing Marion’s development from a rural town with a hitch rack behind city hall for farmers’ horses to a bustling community with thriving industry – and a great healthcare system.

According to Butler, the hospital not only serves the community but also acts as a catalyst for growth. "The advent of the new hospital placed Marion squarely in the front rank of growing communities when it opened 6 years ago. Heartland acted as a magnet for community growth. Mayor Butler says he is proud to have a hospital like Heartland that he can rely on. "My entire family goes to Heartland for care -- because it’s right here in our hometown and we have a great experience there.
