Dan and Allison Snow Chose Heartland.

Life is a balancing act for Dan and Allison Snow of Herrin. Nearly ten years ago, the couple opened Snow Power Unlimited, an enormously successful gymnastics studio. And if running a small business isn’t enough, they are also the proud parents of four small children. When the Snows learned they were expecting their fourth, choosing a hospital was an easy decision. The couple welcomed their first two children into the world at Marion Memorial Hospital and their two youngest at Heartland Regional Medical Center.

Dan and Allison appreciated the hospital’s close proximity to their home and the services it has to offer. Heartland’s Prepared Childbirth Class covers pregnancy and newborn care issues from A to Z, with information for first-time mothers or more experienced moms. "I liked that expectant mothers receive a tour of the hospital and the opportunity to visit the birthing room and postpartum rooms prior to the big day. It helps you to feel more at ease when it’s time to deliver because you are familiar with the hospital," Allison says.

Open lines of communication between Heartland’s obstetrics team and the patients really helps to educate expectant moms, she adds. "The OB unit is wonderful! We had everything we needed," she added. "They are there for you, 24/7, to offer advice and support during labor, delivery, and postpartum. We were really prepared and knew what to expect, which made it real simple. I’d go back to Heartland 10 times over."

The Snows feel blessed to have a hospital like Heartland to rely on. "We have a very busy life, and not having to worry about where to go when our family needs healthcare is a relief."
