Safety First: Visitor Policy Update June 29, 2020
Beginning on Monday, June 29, 2020, in alignment with Phase 4 of Governor Pritzker’s Restore Illinois reopening plan, Heartland Regional Medical Center’s Visitor Policy is as follows:
- Screenings: All visitors will continue to undergo temperature and illness screenings and will be required to wear masks and perform good hand hygiene.
- Third Floor, Inpatient Medical Unit: Hospital inpatients, not suspected of COVID-19*, will be allowed One (1) visitor. Visitor hours are from 10:00 am – noon, and 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm daily.
- Surgical Unit & Perioperative Services, Outpatient Lab/Imaging, Outpatient Clinics (Medical Office Building) and Emergency Department: One (1) visitor will be allowed per patient.
- Visitor Movement: Approved Visitors are asked to stay in the patient’s room, or designated waiting area, throughout the length of their visit.
- Intensive Care Unit: No visitors will be allowed to the Intensive Care Unit*.
- Courtyard Café: HRMC Staff only.
- Approved Points of Entry for Patients and Visitors:
- Main Entrance: Open from 6:00 am – 6:00 pm
- Emergency Department Entrance: Open 24 hours, every day.
* Some exceptions to these visitor restrictions may be made in special circumstances. Other considerations are made on a case-by-case basis when essential to ensure the emotional health and well-being of the patient. Check with the nursing staff if you have questions.
