Update: Heartland Regional Medical Center Resumes Services Previously Restricted Due to COVID-19
Efforts are part of Illinois’ Phase 3 Reopening Plan
Beginning on Monday, June 1, Heartland Regional Medical Center will resume our entire comprehensive line of healthcare services to the public. As part of Phase Three of our reopening plan, in accordance with guidelines established by the Illinois Department of Public Health, we will restart our services that were previously restricted due to the COVID-19 outbreak. This includes resuming diagnostic imaging services, sleep clinic studies and cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation.
“We are excited to get back to doing what we love: serving the people of Marion and beyond,” said Ed Cunningham, Heartland Regional CEO. “As we resume services and procedures that put us back at full capacity, each outpatient clinic and all hospital service lines will continue to comply with the enhanced infection control protocols, such as separate care areas, cleaning procedures and protective equipment guidelines, put in place due to COVID-19.”
In addition to in-person visits, Heartland Regional will continue to offer telehealth services, when appropriate. To schedule an appointment, call your provider. For the safety and well-being of patients, staff and the community, Heartland Regional will also continue to adhere to a “No Visitor” policy until further notice. Patients are encouraged to call their provider or visit
HeartlandRegional.com prior to their appointment for visitation details.
In compliance with state guidelines and requirements, patients with elective surgeries must test negative for COVID-19 within 72 hours of a scheduled elective procedure and self-quarantine until the day of their appointment. A temperature check must also be completed at the facility on the day of the procedure.
“It’s important we get back to caring for the community members who in some cases, have been waiting with painful conditions,” said Cunningham. “We’re ready to safely welcome patients who have postponed surgeries, appointments and procedures no matter if it’s in person or on their device.”
Positive patients, or those displaying symptoms of COVID-19 and are awaiting test results, are isolated in separate care areas from non-COVID-19 positive patients. Individuals who think they may have COVID-19 or have been exposed are still encouraged to call the hospital’s Call-Ahead Hotline at
888-534-2786 before coming to the hospital.
