Visiting Someone with COVID-19

Visiting someone with COVID-19 puts you at higher risk for infection. It is safest to defer in-person visitation until 10 days after the patient’s symptoms started. Certain health conditions also put you at higher risk for infection. If you are immunocompromised, have certain medical conditions or are not vaccinated for COVID-19, you may consider alternate ways of visiting. If you are unsure if you should visit, please consult your healthcare provider to help you decide.

Examples of people who are high risk, but are not limited to:

  • People aged 65 and older.
  • People with cancer
  • Organ transplant recipients

  • A staff member will instruct you how to apply your personal protective equipment properly.

While in the room:

  • No eating or drinking.
  • You must leave your personal protective equipment on for the entire visit.
  • Do not touch your face, mask, or face shield.
  • If you leave the room before the end of visiting times, you will not be able to return until the next visiting time.
